Treadle link replacement for the medium and small chicken feeder. The usual reason for a treadle link breaking is that the wire link isn't rotating freely because it is wrapped too tightly around the treadle. Make sure it is loose and can turn freely. if the wire is flexing it will eventually metal fatigue and break. To install the new wire link insert the small bent end through the hole in the door axle, going from the center of the feeder out so that the door remains centered. Bend the top over into a U shape, just enough that it can't pop out or stab someone in the eye. Then hold the treadle level and cross the wire link over the small 1/8" hole in the treadle, grab it with pliers where it crosses the hole and bend it 90 degrees. insert the wire, again from the center of the feeder pointed out, and bend the wire over and under without wrapping it tight. It has to rotate freely. Clip off the excess. We have a video up on
